Karl Beck Instills Fear in small children!

Howdy faithful blog readers! I apologize for the once a month postings that have plagued me this winter but with the decline in weather so too has the transportation. This has been a pretty big month for me though... Group 28 proudly celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Ukraine!!!! It really is quite an accomplishment for us. We've survived experiences that some would never even dream. We had our very first dog bite in the group... hope the rabies shots are working out for ya Tristan. I was actually surprised that it took this long to have one of those.... Definitely a victory!
In honor of the one year, I made the long and yet wonderful trek to the West! Now I know what your thinking... you can take the girl out of the east but can you take the east out of the girl... I don't think so. Though I was surprised with how much Ukrainian I can actually understand I longed for my poluted air and coal mines, my delapidated soviet block buildings. I did appreciate the chang in atmosphere. Dryhobich is a beautiful city with a really rich history though. Kelly and John really made it a weekend to remember as well! An overlook from the clock tower, a trip to drink the delicious mineral waters of Tryskavets, A wine tasting that was fun and informational, and '80s dance party that had me flocking like Jem, and my first ever sauna experience. A home run in my eyes....
Recently PC Ukraine Country director Karl Beck came to my village to check out my site. I gave him a tour of our school and we popped into an English class that was being conducted. He asked a girl, lilya, how old she was and the girl was too afraid to answer. I heard that after class Lilya cried. Karl Beck makes small children cry!!!!
Well the St. Patty's Day party is Saturday and all the preparations are well under way... I'd like to wish everyone a very happy St. Patty's Day!!! And most importantly, I'd like to send a very special Happy Birthday shout out to the coolest 11year old I know, Morgayne Nash! Happy Birthday Sweetie Pie!!!
